After working as a volunteer with struggling children of various ages, Jacqui noticed that while these children could tell you very quickly what made them unhappy, they were not as clear about what made them happy. They were missing an important life skill. The greatest gift we can give our young children is teaching them how to make themselves happy.

Jacqui has a special connection with children; she loves to help them become the best that they can be. She is an enthusiastic photographer, and will hike almost anywhere for a good picture. She enjoys reading, gardening, and working on home projects. She makes herself happy by spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Manny's art career began when he attended a church youth group in Nogales, Az. Members of the group asked Manny to draw murals for youth events, so he began with acrylic paints and taught himself to combine and create colors. He is now an art major, going to school full time, while he also works. His favorite artists include Diego Rivera, Frida Kalo, and Norman Rockwell. He and Jacqui hope to do another book soon, and one day he would like to write and illustrate a book of his own in Spanish.
